Delighted our latest finding! We discovered that abstract representations emerge in the human hippocampus when learning to perform inference. This change in neural geometry is due to disentanglement of discovered latent and observable variables. nature nature.com/articles/s4158…

Congratulations to my brilliant husband Ueli Rutishauser, on a new paper published in nature today: "Abstract representations emerge in human hippocampal neurons during inference." Congratulations to Ueli and all involved!! nature.com/articles/s4158…

I am looking for a research technician to join my team at Pitt! I expect this position to be a great way for a new-ish graduate to gain neuro lab research experience before applying to Med or Grad school. Happy to answer questions, job posting here: cfopitt.taleo.net/careersection/…

Omg!!! I did a double take when I saw 'Nobel Prize,' and figured Nicole C Rust, PhD was making a very cool joke, because John Hopfield certainly deserves the Nobel Prize. Then I heard the news. What a right and perfect and monumentally inspired choice, celebrating the boundary

We are delighted to share that our new paper published today in Neuron! We show that the persistent activity of single neurons during working memory (WM) maintenance predicts long-term memory (LTM) formation in the human hippocampus. 👇cell.com/neuron/fulltex…
