An throaty cough had me creeping to the edges at the New Paths Music concert at Beverley Minster today - but even from a distance the view and sound was exquisite. Particularly loved Vaughan Williams' folksong arrangements, including the one to commemorate nearby Spurn Head. Thankyou!

Congratulations to Thomas Howell on winning Royal Birmingham Conservatoire' 2025 Dame Gillian Weir Messiaen Prize. All competitors played spectacularly. Thank you to hosts New Paths Music & Beverley Minster - & judges Martin Baker, David Saint & Gerdi Troskie. Thank you Dame Gillian for the prize!

Fantastic programme from Craig Ogden and Milos Milivojevic tonight at Sesion De Noche, part of New Paths Music Spring Festival. Congratulations to Roland and the team on a great festival so far - for details of more excellent performances to enjoy: newpathsmusic.com/2025-events/

Lovely program for “Chosen Hill” at the evening concert at St Mary's Beverley, including the haunting “I’ll bid my heart be still” by Rebecca Clarke. Played beautifully by Meghan Cassidy & Libby Burgess. New Paths Music

The busky, Bridgerton-esque, toe-tapping arrangements of 'Clementine' & 'Fly Me To The Moon' played to the talents of this happy quartet at monks walk today - I loved it! Hoping they might make recordings of this niche fun genre. New Paths Music

Wish I could say that Martin Roscoe makes Schubert Piano Sonatas look easy - not so - his intricate playing highlights how very hard they are! Superb performances over 3 days; today at the memorial chapel in Beverley Minster. New Paths Music

Sublime days New Paths Music in Beverley - creative programming, seriously good musicians and a warm welcome to packed beautiful venues. Sad Mary Bevan was ill and deep respect to Charlotte Bowden stepping in with 24 hrs notice for Britten, RVW, Bach, Howells…Gorgeous!

Beautiful Schumann romances adapted for the clarinet, under the peaceful starry sky at St Mary's Beverley - wonderful performances from Julian Bliss & Libby Burgess at the end of New Paths Music 2025. Thanks to everyone who brought so much musical joy to this much-loved festival🙏
