Today with Miss Bradley, we explored different artefacts for our new focus in RME. We completed an I think, I see, I wonder grids and discussed what we wanted to learn about for the upcoming term.

We had a great STEM session by Skills Development Scotland on Lego Renewables. We worked as a team to create a wind turbine that produced electricity. Or winning group produced 6.9 bolts of electricity!

Today we started our day in the sun for PE playing a game of rounders. We continued with our new topic of the rainforest and used an atlas to locate and label all of the rainforests on a map.

Today was outdoor learning day, we enjoyed exploring the outdoors and solving many different clues around the school grounds. #OutdoorLearningDay

This afternoon we continued our rainforest research rojects and made on a start on our presentations. They are coming along nicely and Miss Bradley and I can't wait to hear all of the oral presentations next week.

A little reminder that bikability bike checks will take place tomorrow. If you could remember to bring your bikes and helmets to school tomorrow. 🌞

Tomorrow is the last athletics practice. We have the relay event at Ravenscraig on Thursday. Team announced then but no more afterschool clubs this session. Please share. Newark Primary🧡

Today we presented our rainforest projects against our success criteria. It was great to hear about all the fascinating facts that the groups had researched. Everyone planned and carrie out their presentations with confidence! A lovely afternoon.

This morning we created a set of directions using our knowledge of compass points and angle measurements. We then worked with our partners and follows the directions.

This week we have learned about grid coordinates. We can read grid coordinates and locate items at different points on a grid and today we learned how to plot points using grid coordinates.

We used oil pastels and used blending to create these beautiful birds as part of our rainforest topic.

Reminder for the P6 pupils who are taking part in Bikeability to bring their bikes tomorrow. Weather is looking a bit better than last week! 🌞

Tomorrow afternoon will be Stay and Play for P6B. Please feel free to come along if you can make it🎨🎲

Today we learned about ecosystems in the rainforest. We learned about producers and consumers and used our knowledge to create food webs!

Our Tattoo shop this afternoon. P6 pupils took full control and led the entire afternoon. An excellent display of meta skills being used!
