Great read for anyone interested in the RN submarine service in the Cold War era. Conveys its strengths and weaknesses and what it was really like serving from the mid-1960s through to the late 80s.

So if it was VAR, why did he sack him? 👇 Solak, in a wide-ranging interview, said he had "no plans" to sell the club and also suggested that Russell Martin "would definitely" still be the manager had the video assistant referee (VAR) not taken "eight points" off the team.

Been working on this Silver Cross dolls pram this morning. It was hard going, need to get rust cleaned up and tyres painted up. Built to last.

We are deeply saddened to hear that our dear friend WWII veteran Peter Kent has died. He was a true character, always ready to entertain with a song, a dance and a swirl of his walking stick. He will be sorely missed and we send our heartfelt condolences to his family friends.

I was contacted by a man from England making enquiries about his Lithuanian family who used to live in Newtongrange. Turns out his Grandad Dominik Mikolajunas (Nicol) stayed in the Square and worked for my Grandad as a Baker. Dominik's eldest sons served in the Great War. 1/3

Tony kindly sent me photos of his Uncles and Grandparents. Turns out I knew more about his family history in Scotland and Lithuania before that and was able to pass on some information to him. Always nice to put faces to names. Jan in Royal Scots uniform and his brother Stan.
