I wasn't aware of the Magnequench story. One of the earlier acts of betrayal by America's pedigreed elite. Sometimes it was just stupidity but as often as not was craven greed. Sheer contempt for America's working class. The Bush family did its bit as well.

US military's top leadership (as opposed to the younger officers and troops) has been in denial for years about the risks to US bases on the mainland. Sort of waking up, but no sense of urgency. Might lose our fighters, bombers, tankers, etc., before the war even starts.

The issue is not 'overcapacity'. Rather, a CCP-ruled PRC that uses its economy to dominate and destroy all competition. This is literal warfare on the part of the PRC with a clear objective . It's not a couple rental car companies fighting for market share. The Chinese

If this report is correct it's a huge mistake on the part of the Trump administration. These sorts of 'accommodations' to placate Beijing always fail. Always justified as 'because we need PRC help on (fill-in-the-blank.) PRC pockets the favor and acts even more aggressively.

$140 million? Peanuts. Cadence must be rolling on the floor laughing. This isn't even a slap on the wrist. And note that no company executives have been punished. Until that happens in these cases, nothing will change. USG will crow about the $140 million fine, but shouldn't.

One notes how many members of Congress become wealthy after taking office. This sort of bill is long overdue. The fact such a bill hasn't passed recalls Mark Twain's comment: 'There is no distinctly American criminal class - except Congress.' (Apologies to the honest members.)

Now target the Chinese entities, individuals, and indeed, the entire CCP that facilitates Iran's sanctions busting activities buys 90% of Iranian oil -- and providing other support to the Iranian regime and its military and its economy. Otherwise, this is 'whack-a-mole.'

Well done. In years past State Department would have nixed this sort of move. Too provocative and just make things worse. Hopefully you all are just getting started. South Korea's new leftist regime has candidates equally deserving of Magnitsky sactions.

Epoch Times was right on target from the beginning. Am not surprised. They do real reporting -- no matter where the evidence leads. You'd think everyones this, but it's rare - especially for those old enough to remember real reporters and the papers that hired them.

Voter identification is a standard feature of proper electoral processes under international law and even United Nations standards for fair elections everywhere - Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. Resisting this is for one reason only: to cheat.

The Fed is displaying a contempt for regular American citizens and their well being that I've not seen in my lifetime. (Good informative piece from Daily Caller)

Good move. Should have been done years ago. Now guard against PRC efforts to get around the restriction. Nice to see a President that is not totally beholden to the 'donor' class.

This is what happens when the Federal Reserve acts on political beliefs rather than what's best for the nation and its citizens. TDS is pernicious and makes otherwise responsible people go insane.

Sounds good, but it's a small price to pay for the ROK leftist regime (pro-NK, pro-PRC, and anti-US) to obtain the approval of the US government for its questionable electoral 'win' in June and for its ongoing crackdown on opponents. LJM would have paid a lot more than $450 bn.

Grant Newsham (@newshamgrant) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Hard to argue otherwise. And it's not just Pelosi and not just Democrats. There's reason this sort of law hasn't passed. Too many of our representatives getting rich on insider trading. (Apologies to the many honest ones).

South Korea's new leftist regime (pro-NK, pro-PRC, and anti-US) got a good deal. They'd have paid alot more for US approval of their dubious June election win (despite evidence of fraud) and for tacit US approval of efforts to destroy oppostion and make a one-party state.

The Trump administration has done much good work, but not here. Lee Jae-myung and his cronies are pro-NK, pro-CCP, and anti-American. And they are clear about it. They should be getting the same treatment as the Brazilian regime. State Dept et al have fumbled this one.
