What an incredible day! Today we have officially opened Newstead Academy 🥳 We had the official ceremony this morning and this afternoon our wonderful children and their families came to celebrate and they officially opened the school as well! Thankyou to everyone involved 🎉

Today we shared our very first OFSTED report with our parents and we are extremely pleased with the result ⭐️ we love that our parents feel their children are “flourishing” and “thriving” in our setting. Aim higher-we always do! Full report is on our website!

To finish off a busy half-term the children enjoyed some Halloween activities. There were certainly more Treats than Tricks at Newstead!

Super Sensory Time! We are fortunate to have had a massive upgrade to our Sensory rooms at Newstead. This will mean we can offer even better learning and sensory opportunities for all our pupils. We are already loving exploring the new technologies on offer!

Today we have celebrated World Book Day by decorating a potato as a favourite book character. We are amazed by the creativity of our families and the effort they have gone to. Take a look at some of the brilliant creations!

Pupils at our Hunningey site have been carrying out investigations into changing the state of materials as part of National Science Week. We used scientific language to explain our findings.

As part of Science Week children at Hunnigley have been helping Professor Scout discover more about dinosaurs by using their observational skills to investigate fossils. They had an exciting delivery!

Imagine using your fingers to spread butter on a sandwich!! Children at Hunningley learnt the importance of giving clear and precise instructions in their Literacy session this week.

Super Singers and Signers! Newstead took part in our first Waterton has Stars show. Our Stars could not have shone any brighter! We are so proud of Team Newstead!💫💫

Easter Egg Hunt! The Easter Bunny dropped some eggs in our playground today! We had to find and count the eggs. We thought they tasted delicious!
