(1) Not the way we wanted to go out. Yesterday's game does not define this team. We are extremely proud of our guys and everything they have accomplished! Thank you to our 13 seniors! You came into a program following a winless season & left it as State Qualifiers.

(2) Every single one of you left your mark on this program. You are leaving Newton Basketball in better shape than you found it! We will miss the basketball players, but more importantly - we will miss the young men & their character, leadership, and their work ethic.

(3) Cardinal Nation, thank you for your support this season! It was a fun ride & one that we will all look back upon with fond memories! Red Pride is real!

Cole Plowman, All-Substate Performer! Cole had a monster season! His 14.3 points per game & 7.3 rebounds per game led our team this winter. His 3.0 blocks per game led the entire state in class 3A. Way to go, Cole!

Brody Bauer, All-Substate Performer! Brody was a consistent leader on & off of the court. He averaged 12.6 points per game & 5.2 rebounds per game. He lead our team in free throw makes & attempts, and was second in both rebounds & assists. Way to go, Brody!

All-Substate Coach of the Year! Coach Carter took over this program 4 years ago, following a winless season. He has guided the Cardinals to more wins & a deeper tournament run each year. This years team earned a 1 seed & qualified for the State Tournament. Way to go, Coach!

Drew Thompson, Little Hawkeye Conference - Honorable Mention! Drew was a natural leader for our team this season. He never back down from a challenge & often drew the toughest defensive assignment. Drew was our team's "glue guy!" Congrats, Drew!

Tade Vanderlaan, Little Hawkeye Conference - Honorable Mention! Tade excelled in his role. There were many games where he came off the bench, as the "6th Man" to give us a much needed offensive spark! Tade defended every position on the court in every game. Congrats, Tade!

Jake Ingle, Little Hawkeye Conference - Second Team! Jake capped off a stellar 4-year Varsity career by setting school records in Career & Single Season Assists! His relentless style of play put pressure on opponents on both sides of the ball. Congrats, Jake!

Brody Bauer, Little Hawkeye Conference - First Team! Brody had a great Senior campaign. He was first or second on the team in just about every positive statistic. He did this while being hounded by nearly every opponent's best defender. Congrats, Brody!

Cole Plowman, Little Hawkeye Conference - First Team, Unanimous! Cole had a breakout Senior season! He led our team in points & rebounds. Cole led the Conference & the entire Class 3A in blocks on his way to shattering the Single Season & Career School Records! Congrats, Cole!
