The latest set of resin cast 3D galaxy images have been made by our friends in the Faculty of CCI, UoP School of Creative Technologies! One step closer to perfecting the production technique to make our Science and Technology Facilities Council funded kits! [video - a see-through galaxy model being turned around]

Hi CamCab Taxi I'm a blind guide dog owner and yesterday I was refused by 2 of your 3 taxis that were ordered at the end of a Cambridge meeting. Both drivers claimed allergies but only one Ā could show a health certificate. Sadly this is not an unusual occurrence.

Looking forward to talking about accessible presentations at #presenternet2018 this morning by showing some really inaccessible examples I've encountered in the past, then helping people to think about non visual communication in a Tactile Universe workshop with Dr Jen Gupta

CoffeeSamurai has been on BBC Radio Solent and BBC Hampshire & Isle of Wight about how a project at the University is helping the blind and visually impaired āfeelā the #universe through a series of #3D printed images of galaxies Portsmouth Cosmology

Tune in to BBC Radio Solent tomorrow morning at ~7:25 to hear CoffeeSamurai chatting about the Tactile Universe

Today I'll be talking to the wonderful staff at the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre about the Tactile Universe, as well as accessible and inclusive astronomy education in general.

I cant reccomend this enough. CoffeeSamurai

All the resources needed to print your own Tactile Universe kit are now available for free on our website along with lesson plans for using them in the classroom: tactileuniverse.org/models/

ESO Fellow leads project to produce astronomical show for the blind or visually impaired. A Dark Tour of the Universe offers a #tactile experience using 3D models of astro images & #sonification. Premiere today British Science Festival eso.org/public/announcā¦

Just spoke about Tactile Universe at #IAUS358 in a session moderated by another blind astronomer with a further two blind astronomers in the audience. This is not the norm, but it so totally could be!

We're back on Sunday @BBCFOUR 22:00 with 'Beyond the visible' meeting remarkable, vision-impaired astronomers who are pioneering ways to research using their senses of hearing and touch CoffeeSamurai Tactile Universe Wanda Diaz-Merced #skyatnight Audio description available

Excited to be giving a plenary talk about the Tactile Universe project at RAS NAM 2021 tomorrow morning

Honoured to have received the 2022 Royal Astronomical Society Annie Maunder Medal for Outreach alongside Dr Jen Gupta and Coleman Krawczyk for our work on the Tactile Universe project

Dr Nic Bonne from Portsmouth Cosmology answers a question from Rosella for The Conversation. He says to properly understand what a galaxy is, we should start by looking at our own Milky Way galaxy š #Universe #Space Tactile Universe CoffeeSamurai bit.ly/3EIUYCE

Have had such a wonderful week at #AudibleUniverse2 Lorentz Center, meeting & learning from other astronomers, educators, musicians, psychologists & sound experts passionate about sonification of astronomical data and phenomena for education, outreach, research & accessibility

Just a quick note to anybody who's still on here to say that my twitter username is now Nicolas Bonne
