LCPS News: This afternoon in the Amazon Web Services Think Big Space, 8th graders taking the Computer Science Foundation course with Ms. Amber Lloyd JL Simpson MS showcased the AI Chatbots they created with the help of Nivaro to members of the surrounding community.

Sometimes, the best way to learn is to invite the students to teach the teacher. For our PD time this morning, Ss from JL Simpson MS came to the Think Big Space to walk the IFCSs through a garden challenge in Minecraft Education to "build" a deeper understanding of the program.

Day 4 of CSEdWeek saw HS helpers visiting various schools throughout LCPS News to help K-8 students learn more about computer science. Ss Cool Spring Elem. had a wonderful time coding Scratch Team Face Sensing programs with Ss from Heritage High School and special visitor Aaron Spence.


Career dreams took off when 18 LCPS students visited the Tsubasa (faa) for Disability Mentoring Day! Paired with mentors, they explored exciting career paths, learned from experts and connected to real-world opportunities. A truly inspiring day! Read more: lcps.pub/3OROiXe

History came alive today at the Amazon Web Services Think Big Space when 2nd graders from Evergreen Mill Elementary worked with Abby Spessard to create floats for famous Americans. After building their floats, they coded Root Robots to drive them in a small parade.
