Proud to be one of many The Green Party councillors supporting Zack Polanski in this leadership election. In these continually challenging times, we need bold leadership. #BackZack

Politics North at 10: Will government spending plans be enough for NHS, schools and police? Should Labour apologise for winter fuel u turn? Plus Tom Gordon MP on cuts to support for adoptive families. With Durham PCC Joy Allen, Cllr Jemma Joy Lib Dem 🔶🔶 and Cllr Nick Hartley - Green Party #bbcpoliticsnorth

I spoke to #BBCPoliticsNorth this weekend on why we need to end austerity for councils and how The Green Party policy and a wealth tax can help us do this. Community groups have been plugging the gaps for long enough. Now’s the time to invest in them.

"We need to tax better." Green councillor Cllr Nick Hartley - Green Party on why we need to tax the super-rich properly to help fund our NHS and restore our communities.

Brilliantly put by Cllr Nick Hartley - Green Party So many charities and community groups are trying to provide crucial services on a shoestring. Introducing a wealth tax would enable us to invest in youth services, schools, care - the things that mean no one gets left behind

This is great and exactly what The Green Party must be doing more of! Brilliant work from Carla Denyer and Zoe Gardner 💚 The Party has many policies that, at first, appear radical, perhaps even a bit unrealistic. But, after a review of the current state of play, you can

It was economists like Grace Blakeley that convinced me to devote so much time to The Green Party campaigning. It’s brilliant to find out that Grace is now a Green Party member. Welcome Grace! The fight against wealth inequality just got stronger.

Please, MPs, before you vote on tomorrow’s AD bill, I beg you to ask yourselves why the Royal College of Psychiatrists felt compelled to publicly oppose it…. Ask yourselves why the vast majority of palliative care doctors, geriatricians & groups representing people with disabilities, eating

A whole BBC Question Time on “growing up in the 21st century” with not one reference to climate change. Except for Fiona Bruce at the end commenting on how hot it was in the room… #bbcqt

We cannot carry on with our broken politics, it’s time for change #BackZack and if you haven’t already, join the The Green Party by 31st July so that you can vote for Zack Polanski

Thank you to all MPs who are standing up for society’s safety net and standing with people with disabilities. If Keir Starmer can show he listens to his own MPs, and more importantly to the wider public on this, then he will start to regain some respect.

Important questions asked at Newcastle City Council’s last ever (!) Climate Change Committee. I asked for objective metrics on how the council’s work helps emissions, health, savings, and job creation. We need to tell a clear story on how climate action helps people as well as planet.
