🩸 1st December marks world HIV day. We are fundraising for the Terrence Higgins trust and raising awareness to help reduce the stigma surrounding HIV. Our annual guess the # of sweets in the jar is £1 per go and red ribbons are also on sale for £1 on NG2 🩸

💚 Our February focus of the month is WELLBEING! Our amazing wellbeing champions Audrey and Krystyna have created a fantastic board, and they are always finding supportive ways to look after the wellbeing of colleagues. We are so grateful! 💚

✨ Wellbeing ✨ is our focus of the month for February and as part of this our shared governance council arranged for the Staff Wellbeing NUH to complete some health checks for staff on the ward. Thank you to all involved, the day was a success again! SharedGovernance NUH

A huge thank you to the widows sons Masonic bikers assn who have donated some supplies of underwear, socks, tracksuit bottoms and tshirts for our clothes bank. Our clothes bank was a SharedGovernance NUH project & is a huge hit with our patients who come into hospital with nothing.

🌟 Februarys star of the month is ANNE our DISCO. Since Anne joined our team discharges have been more streamlined, particularly for patients with complex discharge needs. Anne is friendly and helpful and makes our nurses jobs much easier! Well done!!🌟

March focus of the month is NUTRITION. Our link nurses Shree & Gemma have been busy informing staff with a new board. Gemma has been challenging us 2 guess supplements in a taste test today. This enables staff 2 understand patients comments when they are prescribed supplements

🌼This week we congratulated NATALIA on her daisy nomination! This was from a family member who was so reassured by Natalia’s comforting and compassionate care. Well done Natalia! 🌼

This Easter weekend the Easter bunny aka our Shared Governance council treated all of our staff to an Easter egg to thank them for their hard work. 🐣 🥚 🍫

The month of April we have focused on infection prevention and control, this is something we pride ourselves with on the infectious disease ward. Our HCAs Alberta, Kirsty and our RN Jean have made this fantastic board to help educate staff and our patients on IPC. 🦠 😷 🪱

🏆⭐️ Last week, our Ward Administrator AUDREY was the overall winner for the CAS “Unsung Hero” award! Audrey was nominated for her kind and caring nature and willingness to go above and beyond for everuone - we are SO proud! Well Done Audrey! 🏆⭐️

To coincide with dying matters week, our focus of the month for May is end of life care. Our nurse Vishu and our CSW Gayle have created this board to help increase our staff knowledge around end of life care and how we can do it well on NG2.
