The Israeli military just issued an evacuation warning for a building in the southern suburbs of Beirut, announcing expected Israeli strikes. The building is clearly marked as being close to two schools. And it’s a regular school day in Lebanon. Civilian lives are at stake.

Medical and civil defence rescuers were encircled by the Israeli army tanks while they were on a succoring mission. The ambulances and vehicles attacked, the rescuers executed.

“Per population, the death toll of Palestinian journalists is roughly equivalent to the killing of 8,500 U.S. newsroom employees.”

It's excellent news that the #Bahrain govt released several hundred more prisoners just before Eid. But authorities continue to deny former detainees their access to basic rights, including their right to housing, even after they've been released.

The #Houthis have finally released Akram Al-Akhali, an employee of the NL embassy in #Yemen, after the embassy + civil society's tireless efforts advocating for his release. Hopefully other orgs/UN will follow suit for their staff to be released, too. hrw.org/news/2024/06/2…
