In my interview with AFP News Agency I noted that "It [Panjshir] gives hope to those Afghans who have lost almost everything in a blink of an eye," and it stands as a symbol that the Taliban's brute force and imposition of their political will be resisted. #Panjshir france24.com/en/live-news/2…

Let’s be clear: People are being slaughtered in their homes and villages by terrorists (Taliban+ISI), emboldened by the intnl-community, and the entire world is just watching in silence. This day will be remembered. Today and new epic and new history begins.

If you sacrifice women's rights, then you've sacrificed them all. The term "rights" does not feature in the Taliban's dictionary, and when this term is used it is to distort and distract away from their actions on the ground. You should know better not to parrot Taliban lies.

Did anyone actually think the Taliban would create an inclusive state or forego the Islamic Emirate because of photo-op discussions in Doha? And if a woman or women had been appointed, would she/they have exercised a meaningful role? Come on, don't believe your own fantasies.

According to a Taliban spokesperson on TOLOnews, women can't be ministers, do not represent half of society, should stay home & give birth, and the women protesting don't represent Afghan women. So who does the Taliban's imposed will and emirate reflect in Afg? Not Afghans.

Freedom can be lost in a day, but in our case it is being chipped away from within by the torchbearers of Hindutva who will burn it all down to recreate an imagined community that never existed. In the end, they will claim victory when dancing around the ashes.

I am delighted to share my research paper that CTC at West Point published. It looks at the violent extremism challenge in Afghanistan from the vantage point of the former Afghan government's elites and provides policy recommendations on how to tackle the challenge.
