The Garden Restoration #nizamuddinrenewalproject On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of India's Independence, His Highness the Aga Khan gifted to India the garden restoration of Humayun's Tomb- Independent India's first-ever 'garden restoration'.

Extracurricular activities #nizamuddinrenewalproject Regular music, visual arts, and computer classes are conducted for students by community teachers. The education component under the project enriches the curriculum and the school experience of the children.

South Gateway: Humayun’s Tomb complex. Structural conservation works were completed in 2011, which included removal of the inappropriate cement plaster followed by lime plastering and lime punning and restoration of the red polychromy pattern of the external arch alcoves. #AKTC

Chausath Khamba Forecourt. #nizamuddinrenewalproject In 2010, the forecourt of Chausath Khamba and Ghalib’s Tomb were restored, thereby enhancing the cultural significance of the place which are now being used for cultural events.

Chausath Khamba #nizamuddinrenewalproject One of the 16th century hidden treasures of Nizamuddin Basti is unique as it is built entirely of marble, whose forecourt has now become a major cultural venue. It is one of the most complex conservation efforts ever undertaken by AKTC.

Finial Restoration: Isa Khan Tomb #nizamuddin Scientific clearance of earth revealed several architectural fragments, including the missing portions of the finial.These were carefully compared with archival photographs prior to the new pieces being carved and restored.

Humayun's Tomb: Restoration of highly ornamental plasterwork. #nizamuddinrenewalproject In order to restore the intention of the original builders and ensure long term preservation, the star shaped ceilings were restored under the project.
