Poverty Porn - the tool of politicians, billion dollar companies & those desperate to portray themselves as good for social media.

Penny Allman-Payne pays credit to Jenny Miller & Kath Madgwick who are in the gallery, who “continue to fight to ensure no more tragedies occur”& asks how much longer they have to wait for govt to implement #RobodebtRC recommendations Gallagher insists the work is “underway” #QT

2015 #Robodebt was illegal. 2025 and Labors version of #Robodebt is also illegal. The Morrison Gov told Australians Robodebt was legal. Today Minister for #Robodebt2 Gallagher told the senate its "not her job" to ensure Labors 2025 system is legal. Here we go again. #corruption

Governments may not unilaterally declare lines drawn under shameful chapters in their history, and such declarations are worthless.

melissa My jaw dropped. Are ACOSS so bent over for government, so devoid of imagination, they can't see the slippery slope, the danger of reversing innocent before guilty? These laws will target protestors & will be used to coerce others, all the while, harming family & children.

If the Coalition have genuine objections about this they have the opportunity to act like a real opposition and demand the amendments be split off and made subject to proper scrutiny. The public interest lies here—there is no pressing reason to pass this bill quickly.

Never forget, never ever forget who watered down the legislation for the NACC. It’s designed to protect, not prosecute. The duopoly is not the answer. theklaxon.com.au/robodebt-nacc-….

Thank you Penny Allman-Payne. You your team, David Shoebridge & Andrew Wilkie MP, were amazing today. We cannot thank you enough for hearing our story and fighting the good fight. Thank you also to David Pocock, who came to offer his condolences and show us respect for our cause.

Enforced poverty doesn't encourage someone to look for work. It forces them to focus so much on survival that they don't have much capacity left for anything else. This even more especially if they're disabled.

Weeks before sitting her final exams, she had to travel nearly three hours each way to get from her new home to her school At the same time, she had to take on the household chores and was working part-time to support her mother, who was blind. abc.net.au/news/2025-11-0…

Kath Madgwick NobodyDeservesPoverty I'm sorry that you put trust in people who told you that they would do things differently. You have a right to feel like you have been used politically by people who were going to do whatever they wanted anyway.

NobodyDeservesPoverty melissa The way governments have modified the registrations for the charities commission under the act means they technically can't oppose government policy. It was a deliberate act by previous governments to dampen these groups. Taking away finances has that effect on people and orgs.
