The Nursery children had a visit from Zoo Lab. The children saw different mini beasts such as a snake, millipede, spider, snake and a large snail. The children were able to touch and hold some of the mini beats and learn some very exciting facts about all the mini-beasts.

The children were excited to welcome a vet to Nursery, who brought along a friendly dog to help them learn how to care for animals. The children also had the opportunity to practise bandaging a toy dog and discovered interesting facts about how to look after a real one.

Today, the police came to visit our school and talked to the children about how they help people and keep everyone safe. The children had the opportunity to wear the police hat and try on some of the police equipment, which sparked lots of excitement and curiosity.

The Nursery children were introduced to a creative alphabet activity using cooked spaghetti. They were provided with long strands of spaghetti to shape into letters. The children focused on forming the letter of their names, carefully bending and twisting the spaghetti.

In Nursery we have been learning to recite numbers beyond 5 by using farm animals and one-to-one correspondence when counting. We can now recognise groups of up to 3 objects without needing to count them individually.

The Nursery children picked leaves from our garden to use in the mud kitchen. They shared the leaves and enjoyed cutting, stirring, and mixing them together. “I made porridge with strawberry and water” said Child N proudly describing their creation.

Nursery: The children have loved bringing their designs to life for our play project. One of our students has created a magical talking flower using recycling.

The children showed great interest in farm animals. They listened carefully as we talked about the animals that live on a farm and excitedly joined in making the sounds “moo,” “oink,” and “baa.” We used the play dough to make our favourite animals and house for the farm animals.

We introduced our exciting new topic for the term: Land Before Time – all about dinosaurs! The children were eager to share what they already knew and learned new facts about different types of dinosaurs.
