Same here I asked some people to put their dogs on a lead yesterday and got a load of backchat Dog walkers don’t know where their dogs will stress sheep or wildlife like ground nesting birds - locals do But they won’t listen

Thx to Zoe & Tim at Roy Dennis Foundation, superb photos by Shannon Clifford 🍄🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 & a fair bit of detective work, the WTE over Cley & the coast y'day was a 2cy♂️(G637) fledged in W. Sussex last year (his parents were from the IOW project). His tracker came off back in January. 1/2

This bird headed north over SBBOT the day before it reached Norfolk, the distinctive wear/moult on the outer secondaries identified it as the same bird. So that's Black Kite, White-tailed Eagle & Booted Eagle that have done the Sandwich-Norfolk route in a month. 2/2

Some excellent patch birding this morning with my first Swifts of the year and a calling cuckoo (only my 3rd on patch). However, the stars of the show were 4 Bar-tailed Godwits including 3 males in breeding plumage. One of the best waders!😍

1500 Barnacle Geese left out to sea over Budle Point this morning. Failed to add any this evening, but did stumble into a bonny Red-throated Pipit!

Labour are backtracking on a plan to help save birds: by blocking a new rule that would make developers put a £35 nest brick in every new home. They think it'll help win them votes - we need to show it would do the opposite. Sign the petition 38d.gs/9qg-

The Wood Sands, Temminck’s Stints, breeding plumage Bar-tailed Godwits & Spoonbills were fantastic NWT Cley Marshes, but somewhat eclipsed when we stumbled on to this superb ‘thunbergi’ Grey-headed Wagtail whilst guiding yesterday!

Chalk stream protection bill dismissed by Labour ministers: "It’s as if they have ignored all common sense, the scientific evidence presented to them and stuck their fingers in their ears whilst shouting, ‘Build, build, build’." edp24.co.uk/news/25165142.… Feargal Sharkey

Ecologists are clear: the Planning Bill torches environmental safeguards. My proposals would stop developers trashing nature. The failed developer-led model won't deliver affordable homes. We need a progressive alternative: a public-led plan to deliver homes & protect nature.

One of the most stunning and striking birds I've seen! A female Grey Phalarope in Summer Plumage at Spiggie Loch this evening. Never seen one in this plumage, just WOW! What a week so far! Thanks to finder Phil Harris. #Shetland RareBirdAlertUK

I urge the Government to back my Planning & Infrastructure Bill amendments. We were promised a win-win for nature and growth - we got a developer’s charter that will destroy nature. Let’s change course and deliver for workers and wildlife. theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

What a gorgeous bird! Breeding plumage female Grey Phalarope yesterday evening on Loch of Spiggie. 2 Phalarope day completed, after a day on Unst on my Brydon Thomason tour!
