We are carrying out a training exercise at Norwich Cathedral this evening (Thurs 7th Nov). Please do not be alarmed if you see a lot of fire engines and crews in the area - we will be there from 6.30 until 10pm. The exercise is testing our procedures for heritage buildings.

We carried out a training exercise at Norwich Cathedral last night to test fire fighting and salvage procedures at the historic site. It's really important that we hold training like this with partners to test plans and make sure we are skilled and prepared.

Following a large fire at Dibden Road, nearby residents are asked to keep window/doors closed and avoid handling ash/debris. The site involved in the fire contained asbestos. While it is possible that asbestos-containing materials were released in the smoke and deposited as ash
