The Carbon-Water Dynamics virtual coffee morning is growing! One topic we discussed was what can 1st and 2nd year #PhDs do if they can’t collect/generate #data? Suggestions welcome! Sara Trojahn Sevda Norouzi Dr James Spray Ryan Pereira

Dr James Spray studies the effects of #sunlight on #carbon in tropical rivers, a vital part of the global #carbon cycle: they both release CO2 and transport carbon to be stored in the oceans

Sevda Norouzi works on understanding and quantifying water-atmosphere CO2 exchange as a key process in the #CarbonCycle and its impact on future climate. She studies tropical #rainforests - the Earth's 'lungs'. Iwokrama River Lodge

Sara Trojahn focuses on carbon dynamics in peatlands –one of the most valuable and vulnerable ecosystems on Earth and its crucial to preserve biodiversity and providing safe drinking water. #ClimateAction is integral to prevent increasing greenhouse gas emissions from peatlands

Very pleased to announce that my European Research Council (ERC) #ERCStG project #BOOGIE has been funded! It’s a five year programme investigating dissolved organic matter and its role in air-sea gas exchange. More to come but now looking for new #PhD students and #PostDocs in 2021!

The critical role of the world's oceans in absorbing and releasing greenhouse gasses is to be examined in a major new study. Dr Ryan Pereira has been awarded a £1.6m Starting Grant from European Research Council (ERC) to advance his research. #ERCStG More here: bit.ly/3jLbODI

We have two new #phdpositions available in the Carbon-Water Dynamics group Lyell Centre working on the European Research Council (ERC) funded #BOOGIE project. Want to do great #science in the #rainforest and #ocean? findaphd.com/phds/project/j… findaphd.com/phds/project/b…

On this #WomenInScience day we are incredibly proud of the work being done by Sara Trojahn , Sevda Norouzi , and Juliane in furthering our knowledge of carbon-water interactions

First morning of the #GasTransferatWaterSurfaces symposium 8 in #Plymouth for our group! Ready for some environmental science 😁 #ClimateEmergency #ClimateChange #Science Plymouth Marine Lab

Loosing the great enemy called “Islamic republic”would cost a fortune for the USA.Both US and Mullas need each other for their propagandas,War/Arme industry.Who really wants a free Iran?Cares about peace in the Middle East?Having an enemy is a great source of income! #MahsaAmini

In a new paper, researchers analysed how changes in organic matter during transition from dry to wet seasons in the tropical rainforest 🌴 can offer novel insight into the aquatic ecosystem & global carbon cycle. 👉rdcu.be/dybn0 Carbon-Water Dynamics British Geological Survey #Iwokrama
