Lad and Dad had a great time volunteering at The Queen's Jubilee Nature Trail, Southport with the North Merseyside Amphibian & Reptile Group event this morning. We helped in cutting back overgrowth to restore habitat for two rare species - Sand Lizards and Natterjack Toads.

I'm made up to have the first Common Frog of the year to arrive at my garden pond. That's the 17th species photographed (19th overall) to visit the wildlife corner of the garden. Happy days. πŸΈπŸ’š

Despite cooler evenings recently, amphibians including the rare Natterjack Toad are producing tadpoles & still breeding on the #Sefton Coast. Please keep dogs out of all flooded areas in the dune system. Thank you. Normally, you can tell the difference between a newt and a lizard from the environment you find it in... so what is this common lizard doing in this pond vegetation?!🦎 Find out other ways to tell newts and lizards apart in our FAQsπŸ‘‰ arc-trust.org/lizards-faqs#d…
