RAILWAY STATION, Monkseaton    ACC 4198 The Blyth and Tyne Railway began humbly, as a mineral line, from Carr's Seghill Colliery to Hayhole Dock, in 1840, it was soon extended to Cowpen Colliery. In 1847, passengers began to be carried between Blyth and Percy Main.
