Really proud of our Crew Manager Lou who this weekend took part and absolutely smashed - the British Firefighter challenge in Watford! 💪 💪 We cheered her and others from Nottinghamshire along throughout the weekend. #GoLou

We’d barely stirred our morning cuppa when we were mobilised to a report of a train on fire in Toton Nottinghamshire. 📟 🎶 Thankfully quickly resolved with minimal disruption to the mainline. 🚂 ❌

Just when I thought I had a quiet moment to catch up with X….. mobilised to a report of a Grass Fire in Derbyshire. 🚒 💨

Strengthening Our Wildfire Response Capabilities 🔥🚒 Today, our team took part in hands-on training with our new wildfire vehicle, enhancing our readiness for future incidents. Special congratulations to Crew Manager Jim, who is now fully trained to support wildfire operations.

The team attended a flat fire today and have spent the afternoon ensuring that an elderly lady with memory issues gets the on going support she needs. Always difficult but we are proud of the difference we make to our communities.

The team are providing cover at Harworth and Warsop. It’s rare for us to come here at Warsop who have amazing availability at 99.2% providing response to their community. We are really proud of that. Really proud! 😊

Part of our increased wildfire capabilities based here at Warsop Fire Station (currently in its temporary bay) ready to respond anywhere in Nottinghamshire. Zulu1

The fabulous ‘Tony’ has returned from marinating our hydrants and has (in his words) “a mountain of paperwork to do” - he has booked available here at Warsop and is helping us maintain fire cover at the same time. Thank you Tony!

Two ‘big shifts’ for the team as we both head off to Harworth and Collingham to give them some support. Our team can work anywhere between 7am and 7pm to support our On Call Teams and ensure we put our communities first.

Crew Manager Jim and #TeamHarworth attended an out of control bonfire today. Wildfire beaters and hose reel jets used to control the fire, followed by advice and a safe and well visit.

We are maintaining our skills at one of our specialist rescue stations today! Here at Highfields Fire Station providing fire cover and a full day or rope and water skills ahead of us. 😬😬

Inbetween fire calls we have been undertaking some Safe Working at Height training - a huge thanks to ‘Big Steve’ - this is my favourite knot to tie (yes I have reached an age where I have a favourite knot). Quick lunch break before a busy afternoon.

We responded with #TeamGreenWatch to an incident in Nottingham and quickly deployed the specialist rescue capabilities in to the River Trent.

Thank you to all our On Call Teams who are shuffling availability around to maintain fire cover during the summer holidays. We appreciate you all! We are off to Harworth today who need a bit of help. 🚒 💨

Continuing our working at height training and competence, currently practicing our skills and using a range of equipment to set up different systems. Available to our communities if they need us. 🚒 💨

Two fitness tests completed for our team while providing fire cover here at Harworth. All of our On Call Stations are kitted out with decent gym equipment, helping keep our firefighters fit for the future. 💪 💪

The day isn’t over. The team are helping prepare our future leaders. Today assisting the awesome bunch from East Leake with a number of command exercises, using the smoke house at Carlton.

Today using FireServiceRota we have sent additional On Call firefighters to Notts Fire Training to assist with our latest On Call “pumping course”. A day of hard work ahead of them, supporting our developing firefighters. Thank you 🫶
