Secondary breast cancer is breast cancer that has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. On #SecondaryBreastCancerAwarenessDay we'd like to introduce you to our PhD student Mia Nuckhir. Mia's research project aims to better understand breast cancer lung metastasis.1/2

Congrats to MBC Symposium 1st place presentation winner Lucie Reboud & highly commended Helen Clarke. Also to poster winner Hannah Harrison with Mia Nuckir h/c. Thanks to everyone who shared their work & came along today.#MBC2022 Breast Cancer Now FBMH Doctoral Academy 🌎 Manchester Cancer Research Centre Division of Cancer Sciences

Very happy to have been awarded one of the MRS travel bursaries, just over 3 weeks to go until Keystone Symposia !

Back in Manchester after an extended trip to Vancouver with Hannah Harrison for Keystone Symposia #KSMetastasis23 Thanks to Metastasis Research Society for the support, I had a great time presenting my work on the lung microenvironment in breast cancer lung metastasis!

I’ve loved being involved in I'm a Scientist Team #CancerZone so far! The students have had so many fantastic questions and it’s been great to reflect on my PhD journey…

Great opportunity to talk about my in vitro model of breast cancer metastasis. Lots of new connections made and exciting collaborations planned. Funded by The National Centre for the 3Rs Science and Innovation at Cancer Research UK and Translation Manchester. Thanks for the invite @TheBACR #bacrtrailblazers

Congratulations Mia Nuckhir for presenting your amazing PhD project results at the @TheBACR Tumour Microenvironment Meeting in Nottingham. Based at Manchester Breast Centre Division of Cancer Sciences and funded by an MRC studentship UK Research and Innovation

Fascinating morning at the MBC Symposium #MBC2023 with talks from MBC researchers & PhD students Rob Clarke Dr Isabel Pires Mia Nuckhir @vicky_woof Oliver Cottrell Sacha Howell & Bel Taylor-Hearn on the wide range of #breastcancer research taking place in Mcr. More to come..

Congrats Danielle Smith

👉The review on metastatic #breastcancer #microenvironment by Rob Clarke team is out! It discusses mouse models, ex vivo & 3D in vitro models (#microfluidics & #organonachip), which are paving the way for better drug development & screening. 🔬🧬 link.springer.com/article/10.100…
