Inspiring discussion. Sincere thanks to Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) frailty team. Impressive results, getting our patients with moderate to severe frailty out of hospital beds, massive reduction in super stranded patients and high same day discharges. Andrew O'Neill

Yesterday, Walsall Healthcare, we did multiple simulation sessions on two topics. One Upper GI bleed, the other was on AF. Unlike most sim sessions, we used actors to go through low, medium, and high acuity presentations to explore discharging through to blood and electricity!

NHS staff across the country are, as always, playing their part in response to this week's riots. But we shouldn’t let dedication to duty disguise the fact that seeing this flare-up of racism will leave many colleagues feeling afraid and unwelcome. ➡️ england.nhs.uk/2024/08/statem…

‘We know that post-take ward rounds in the ED are 37% less efficient than on AMU’ EDs are not built - structurally & infrastructurally - for ward rounds, we are in the way, limited privacy, we’re unfamiliar with the environment But poor flow often mandates it #sambrighton

Although no biomarker is an alternative to endoscopy in ulcerative colitis, studies are emerging showing correlations between biomarkers and different stages of disease, suggesting they could be used to avoid frequent endoscopy.¹⁻³ What do you think?
