Today, I met with the UN Special Representative to Somalia James Swan to discuss strengthening Puntland’s fight against ISIS. We had an in-depth conversation on the importance of counterterrorism efforts and how Puntland can be further supported in this operation.

Continuing my advocacy for stronger support to Puntland, I met with British Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Michael Nithavrianakis, to discuss the urgent need for international backing in the fight against ISIS. ISIS is not just a threat to Puntland—it endangers regional and global

Today, I met with Deputy U.S. Ambassador Steven Gillen to discuss Puntland’s counterterrorism efforts. I thanked the U.S. for its support and urged for stronger cooperation, including stabilisation programs. We also discussed Somalia’s political process and inclusive governance.

I welcome the UK’s continued support in the fight against terrorism. Their commitment to #OpHilac in Puntland, including medical supplies and other assistance, is a vital contribution to regional security. Thank you, Mike Nithavrianakis, for standing with Somalia in this critical effort.
