Harry Gairey, seated at the Attorney General's reception for Ontario Black History Society #OTD in 1981, spoke out after his son was refused entry to a Toronto skating rink on racial grounds in 1945. His civil rights advocacy led to the city's first anti-discrimination ordinance in 1947. #BHM
