This week, #SHSM students from WoodroffeHighSchool & Nepean High School planted over 1,120 trees within the OCDSB 507 acre outdoor classroom. These trees were funded by the OCDSB & provided by the RVCA . For the next 5 years, 1,000 trees will be planted annually inside OCDSB Outdoor Centres


Starting Monday June 3rd 2024, the OCDSB Outdoor Education Centres (Bill Mason & MacSkimming Centre) will start excepting field trip & site rental registration for the 2024-2025 school year. Please email your interest to: [email protected] OCDSB Outdoor Centres OCDSB ContEd




Grade 1 students from Manotick PS found this blue-spotted #salamander while looking for dragonflies during their OCDSB Outdoor Centres "Needs of Living Things " program. Students, volunteers and staff were very excited to hear the cicadas start calling. OCDSB


During their Plants & Soils program at OCDSB Outdoor Centres , Grade 3 students from South March PS examined wild sarsaparilla, pollinated balsam ragwort flowers with brushes, ate wild strawberries & spotted this Blanding's turtle hiding in the pond. All within the OCDSB outdoor classroom!

Grade 8 students from GlashanPublicSchool create some impressive nature mandalas (land art) during their OCDSB Outdoor Centres "Arts in the Outdoors" field trip. OCDSB



Grade 2s from Henry Larsen ES found this mystery invertebrate inside the vernal pond, during their Growth & Changes in Animals field trip within OCDSB Outdoor Centres . Students are still working on identifying it. Any guesses?


Kindergarten students from Pleasant Park PS found & dissected a broad-winged hawk's regurgitated pellet during their OCDSB Outdoor Centres field trip. They were excited to find within it, a short-tailed shrew's skull and lots of fur and bones. OCDSB #outdoorlearning


This year's bald eagle chick at the OCDSB Outdoor Centres is growing up so fast! Luckily it has two awesome parents and lots of fish! #biodiversity in City of Ottawa OCDSB
