LinksGems OCM Golf Medinah Country Club Played it last week and was floored. Never played it prior, nor had any desire to based on what I’d watched on tv and other videos. Brilliant stuff from OCM and good on the club for seeing the vision.

Six years on from our remodel of Mike Wright & the native area along the right of the 7th just gets better and better. Only once the trees were removed did we find this wonderful section of rolling, rocky ground along the right of the hole.

First time playing Royal Canberra GC today following the OCM Golf redesign. -3 Celsius teeing off at 7:30am 🥶 but what a sensational golf course. Wonderful bunkering, excellent green complexes & surrounds + stunning scenery. Can’t wait for this place to be back on the global map

Stage 3 course works at Royal Canberra are now complete with the course again living up to its reputation as 'Australia's Augusta'. Lush turf, large scale undulations, pine trees, fast tilted greens, water & beautiful scenery. Images: AirSwing Media

A before and after view of the new 6th at Medinah Country Club. Fortunate there was space to move away from the boundary to screen cars & houses but then an old photo of the original green gave us the idea of again using a fence as a hazard. 📸: 3 & 4 Fried Egg Golf

Our first US project was rebuilding ‘Little Nine’ at Mike Wright with proper greens & bunkers, expansive short grass areas & fun mix of par 3s & 4s. Famously this space was where Hogan spent hours hitting balls & after starting his club company, trying driver and iron ideas.

Before I left Minnesota, I stopped by the future home of Tepetonka GC, where OCM Golf was hard at work, Geoff Ogilvy/Mike Cocking walking the property. Enjoyed watching it come to fruition the last few years. Some holes grassed. If all goes well, balls in the air in July 2026.

The work that OCM Golf has done with Medinah (No. 3) is nothing short of a masterpiece. Using many of the previous corridors but also redesigning much of the back nine, the bunkering & tree removal is fantastic. Par-3s are beautiful & several great Par-4s. Greens need to mature.

Grassing is underway on new short course at The Stanwich Club. Affectionately known as 'The Cauldron' the holes play over spectacular sloping ground with views of Long Island sound in the stance, before zigzagging back up to the clubhouse. 9 holes. Lots of options. Lots of fun.

A before and after view of the par 5, 14th hole at Mike Wright. Turning around a natural creek we always felt there was a change to build a dramatic looking approach. Plenty of options & the temptation to go for it in two, but a significant penalty for those that miss!
