Tuesday, July 8: Due to the effects of Tropical Storm Chantal, the recycling collection trucks are unable to collect in the following areas: Mebane - Ben Wilson Rd, Nicks Rd Chapel Hill - the 600-block of Shadylawn Rd, the 1200-block of Markham Dr, and the 100-block of Hadley Dr

Wednesday, July 9: Due to the effects of Tropical Storm Chantal, the recycling collection trucks are unable to collect on the following streets in Chapel Hill: Wave Rd, Yorktown Dr, and Saratoga Trl. Collection will resume when conditions allow.

Ferguson Rd. Waste and Recycling Center Hours Change: Effective September 27, 2025, the Ferguson Rd. Waste and Recycling Center will be closed on Saturdays from 2pm-2:30pm to ensure maximum safety while containers are serviced.

All 5 Waste and Recycling Centers, the Orange County Landfill, and the Solid Waste Administration Building will be CLOSED on Friday, September 5 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm for a department-wide safety meeting.
