Good morning. Larger swell today. The creek will be closed for crossing until the tide recedes. Additionally Grand Gate will be closed until lower tide. Pier Gate will remain open and day use is allowed north of the creek. 4x4 HIGHLY recommended.

Arroyo Grande Creek is closed due to unsafe crossing. Vehicle day use will be open from Grand Avenue to the creek but the riding area is closed for day use until conditions improve. Thank you for your patience and stay warm and safe.

3/26/23 Creek crossing is still closed as well as the OHV area. Street legal vehicles are permitted to drive north of the creek. Thanks for your patience.

3/27/23: The creek is open and the SVRA is open for riding. Please be cautious when crossing the creek, and 4x4 vehicles only allowed to cross. Crossing may close suddenly and will most likely close as the tide rises and we ask for visitors to be prepared to exit the OHV area.

3/29: The creek crossing is closed and the riding area is closed. Recent rain and increased swell has caused the creek to rise and swell. Rangers will re-assess the conditions midday. Vehicle use is open north of the creek.

4/2: Creek crossing closed during the morning high tide. Rangers will re-assess mid morning as the tide drops. The OHV area is closed to riding.

Creek crossing will remain closed for the remainder of today (4/8/23) due to high flow and tidal conditions.

Thursday, April 20, 2023 Oceano Dunes SVRA will be open for day-use between the hours of 7:00 am - 8:30 am and 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm, subject to creek conditions. If you cannot make it across the creek before the morning high tide closure- you will have to wait for the afternoon.
