❄️⚠️SCHOOL CLOSURE⚠️❄️ Due to an increase in the snow falling Oakfield Lodge School will be closed for the rest of the day. Students will be sent home early for the safety of those who travel across the county

Students attended the Your Futures Fair at Congleton Leisure Centre, put on by The Cheshire and Warrington Pledge. They spoke to employers and trainers such as Higher Farm, AstraZeneca and Macclesfield College.

Year 10 students have been conducting experiments in science today 🔬🧪

Cheshire Fire popped in to speak to students about various safety concerns, including road safety and the use of electric bikes

Construction students have been making planters from spare timber, to gain AQA Unit Awards. They enjoyed working outside in the sunshine!

Our BTEC food Tech students completed their final exam menu this week. They designed and produced a two course meal with delicious results. The standard was amazing this year and the staff certainly enjoyed tasting the dishes!

Year 9 students went to Chester Zoo for the day and had a great time looking at the animals. They continued with the learning back at school in by looking at careers, habitats and climates. One student has even written a letter to the Head, asking for a school capybara! 🦥🦒🐘🦩

Year 10 students have been investigating leaves in science. Leaves work to manufacture glucose. Chloroplasts in leaves absorb the light needed for photosynthesis 🌿🌞

Year 9's have been enjoying the sunshine this half term with trips to Snugburys Ice Cream Ice cream, Manchester Airport runway and the beach as part of their Outdoor Education programme 🛫🍦🏖️

Oakfield Lodge school has won a prestigious award for its work supporting young carers with their education. The award was presented to the school in May and is part of the Young Carers in School programme run by charities The Children’s Society and Carers Trust

Year 10 students have been making Chelsea Buns, the whole school now smells like a delicious bakery! 🥐🍞

We had a lovely time at Glebe Farm Astbury this morning, making friends with these beautiful creatures. We also saw the peacocks, pigs, sheep, donkeys, ponies, cows and lots of ducks and birds! Such a great place to visit 🦙🐂🐐🫏🦚🦜🐓🦆
