A fact about the DOE & EcoCAR: “the EcoCAR challenge will support President Biden’s goals to electrify the American automobile sector to achieve greater affordability, reliability, and security for all” The DOE makes it possible to make that change in the automotive industry !

Did you know: that the Department of Energy provides $10,000 in seed money to each team, so they can implement diversity, equity, and inclusion on their teams and in their local communities

According to the DOE, this EcoCAR Challenge is going to help us build a workforce around the soon-to-skyrocket EV market that's diverse and inclusive.

With the help of the DOE, it recognizes the role of experiential learning in helping to prepare students for the rapidly evolving automotive workforce. With DOE funding and support, the next generation of engineers is born.

The Department of Energy has consistently been a system of support to OSU/WU EcoCAR, aiding in the collaboration between Ohio State and Wilberforce University through funding, advising, and much more.

To this day, EcoCAR Alumni are working within the Department of Energy, continuing the important work in electrification
