40 years ago, the first graduates of community development received their certificates in Maynooth. A lot has happened since! Join us to reflect on some of the challenges & opportunities faced along the way and, of course, to celebrate and commemorate! maynoothuniversity.ie/applied-social…

Great to see a Maynooth Community & Youth Work link to the Womenscouncilireland #ClaimingOurSpace event. It feels like we are hearing some new voices applying new lenses to unfortunately old issues...alongside others who have been seeking change for many years.

It was wonderful to have had the opportunity to deepen work with Angela Rickard through the Fellowship programme. Thanks to MU Dean of Teaching & Learning & colleagues! Sorry to have missed the final event but glad to see students voices included! Including Paula Kearney!

What a worthy recipient of this years John O'Connell Award! Migrant Rights Centre Ireland you translate the sort of critical social analysis John shared into collective action for collective outcomes. Keep up the good work!

Next up recent Maynooth Community & Youth Work graduate Chloe O'Malley - Chloe Ní Mháille talking about her work on Inis Oirr & commitment to #Equality & #SocialJustice in #rural communities

#CommunityWorkEducation and #CommunityWorkStandards are about best outcomes for communities, supporting #CommunityDevelopment practice, community work practitioners and strengthening the discipline CommunityWorkIreland Joe O'Brien @DeptRCD

The All Ireland Standards for #CommunityWork reflect global best practice in #CommunityDevelopment and support #CommunityWorkEducation CommunityWorkIreland Joe O'Brien @DeptRCD

Thrilled to hear Joe O'Brien remind us of this. The next job is to support policy makers & funders to develop & enhance their understanding of those approaches & their engagement with the professionals & communities working in this way & on these issues.

Great to share spaces with Maynooth Community & Youth Work students while they are on placement! This is what a community of practice looks like!
