Update 3) The incident has been placed UNDER CONTROL as of 2:32PM. Crews successfully contained the fire to the structure of origin. No reports of any injuries or persons displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No further updates at this time.

OFD Battalion Chief James Bowron provided an update from scene of Tuesday night’s residential structure fire in the 2000 block of 89th Ave where crews successfully rescued a resident and her dog from the building.

Crews on scene for a 4 alarm commercial structure fire — 5200 block of East 8th st. PIO en route. No media staging location yet.

Chief Damon Covington and Battalion Chief Jeddi provided an update from the scene of this evenings 4 Alarm fire in the 5200 block of East 8th St in East Oakland. Tremendous job by crews to contain this large fire and prevent significant impact and mass displacement of neighbors.

Working Structure Fire — 1600 block of 78th Avenue. This is a 2 story residential duplex. 2 Ambulances being requested for injured persons.

Update: This incident has been placed Under Control as of 11:14pm. Red Cross was requested for support services. Approximately 30 firefighters remain on scene. Two dogs died and one person transported by Falck. Cause of fire = illegal fireworks.

OFD crews are working a 2 alarm vegetation fire in the 9800 block of Stanley Ave. Forward progress on this fire is STOPPED, however it did jump the 580 freeway onto the Oakland Zoo side of freeway. The fire is contained and largely extinguished as of 545pm. Expect traffic delays.
