Extremely excited to introduce Climate Pulse - the latest application from Copernicus ECMWF to start #climate conversations giving users global temperature data two days behind real time π Check it out: pulse.climate.copernicus.eu *NB released as Beta mode: feedback welcome :)

With Copernicus ECMWF new tool Climate Pulse, we can see that by the end of February global temperatures have βcooledβ from record-breaking levels to 2023 levels for this time of year

February 2024 was the warmest February on record according to Copernicus ECMWF 1.77Β°C warmer than pre-industrial 9th record breaking month in a row Global temperatures for the past 12 months are the highest on record, at 1.56Β°C above pre-industrial #ClimateAction

Data is out from Copernicus ECMWF for the boreal spring/austral autumn solstice and the global temperature records continue for both air and sea surface temperature. πcheck out pulse.climate.copernicus.eu #ClimateCrisis #opensource

π’ It's out! π’ After over six months of work, Copernicus ECMWF launches today, in collaboration with World Meteorological Organization, its latest report on the state of our climate. It's an amazing, comprehensive piece of work that everyone should read, politicians first! π #EarthDay 1/4

Today Copernicus ECMWF and World Meteorological Organization launch the European State of the Climate Report climate.copernicus.eu/esotc/2023 Flooding is in the news a lot For 2023: - Flooding affected ~ 1.6 M Europeans; storms a further 550,K Europeans - 81% of 2023s climate related losses were due to flooding

NEW: This week's climate graphic looks at heatwave related deaths, which are up 30% in Europe over the past 20 years. Much of eastern Europe also had their warmest year on record in 2023 according to Copernicus ECMWF Read Attracta Mooney's report ft.com/content/1430d8β¦ #dataviz

Europe is the fastest-warming continent on Earth. Glaciers are melting, and 2023 saw widespread flooding and droughts . The frequency and severity of extreme events are increasing. Explore the Copernicus ECMWF European State of the Climate 2023 βΆοΈ climate.copernicus.eu/esotc/2023

Another example of how #dataviz makes #climate data much more accessible. Kudos to Dr Anna Lombardi!

Probably the best compliment a piece of #dataviz could ever receive.. be called "art" ππ The report behind this cover contains some compelling science on the state of our climate. Produced by Copernicus ECMWF and World Meteorological Organization, it's really worth a read! climate.copernicus.eu/esotc/2023

Summer 2024 was the hottest on record both globally and for Europe according to Copernicus ECMWF data π‘οΈ It is increasingly likely that 2024 will be the warmest year on record ππ€ππ€ππ§‘ππ§‘β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈπ More: climate.copernicus.eu/copernicus-sumβ¦ #ClimateCrisis #ClimateAction

Data released today by Copernicus ECMWF shows: π‘οΈ It is now virtually certain that 2024 will be the warmest year on record. It is also virtually certain that the annual temperature for 2024 will be more than 1.5Β°C above the pre-industrial level. #ClimateCrisis #COP29
