This week, some of our children have participated in a bikeability course, where they have learned the necessary skills to ride their bikes safely and competently on the roads. They have learned vital skills such as hand signals, emergency braking and spacial awareness.

Some of our pupils have been assigned the role of E-Safety Champions. They attended their training this week with Bolton Schools ICT The pupils are now ready to raise awareness of online safety.

Our worship committee organised our Harvest collection this year. They have decided to send our collection to Urban Outreach as they have supported our families with food parcels during difficult times.

Our youngest pupils in Nursery have been celebrating their learning with a Teddy Bears Picnic exit point. They invited their favourite teddy to the picnic.

Y6 have been learning all about remembrance day and why it is such an important day, for us to remember those who sacrificed their lives in war. The children used their chrome books to research key questions about it, and then presented their work in whichever way they preferred.

Y6 took part in an exciting live music lesson from the Chetham School of Music.They listened to music which evoked feelings of anger and sadness, that reminded them of war. The children also got to experience listening to a musician play the last post on a French horn.

School council did a fantastic job and led our whole school worship. They told us about the shoebox appeal for operation Christmas child. We learned about where these special boxes go, what we could put in them, and why they are so invaluable to the children that receive them.

Our worship committee planned and delivered a fantastic and meaningful service this morning, all about Remembrance Day and why we remember this special day. They told us all about the First World War and the significance of red poppies, explaining why we wear them today.

Year 5/6 school council have been sorting the items for the shoebox appeal, ready to distribute to classes. They had to select from a range of gifts or items that were suitable for different ages of children. #operationchristmaschild

This morning, year 6 had a visit from the healthy families service. They learned all about how our bodies change as we get older and go through puberty. They discussed emotional changes that can happen, and strategies to help these emotions.

We awarded badges to our brand new play leaders. They had to apply for the position. It was very tricky to choose them as we had so many applications! They will now be the leaders on the playground, helping children to play games, so that everyone is included.

Today, the children who took part in bikeability, received special certificates and badges for their achievements on their bikes. They learned vital skills about staying safe on the roads, as well as becoming more proficient cyclists.

This week, the children have been developing their cross stitch skills in sewing club. They have designed and are now making a decorative door handle for their bedrooms using their new skills. #extracurricular

Y5 have been studying the artist Luba Lukova and how she conveys messages through propaganda art. They have used their knowledge of climate change, and researched images on their chrome books, to create artwork inspired by Luba Lukova, that tells people about global warming.

We had a fantastic bedtime story night for our y2/3 children, organised by the school council. The children wore their pyjamas and cuddled their teddy bears whilst listening to brilliant stories. They also enjoyed a hot chocolate. #schoolcouncilevents

Parents of our year 6 children were invited to attend a SATS workshop this week, where they got all the information about this year's assessments, the different types of tests, plus how to support their children at home. Thank you so much to all who attended.
