Europe for Recharge is growing 2x faster than the US. Being in London makes it clear our investments in local support and on-the ground teams are accelerating growth. EU merchants don’t want to feel second class they expect world class support to make them successful.

Interesting to see Shopify agencies thriving in Europe vs the US. Two reasons stand out: 1) the market is less mature, so there’s more open opportunity 2) selling in Europe is complex, so brands lean on agencies more.”

Went to F1 Monza this weekend and was blown away by the level of access fans get. So smart giving people a direct connection to the drivers and the stories behind the scenes. Masterclass in how to build a brand

Had breakfast with a key sales leader at Shopify today. Every time I have these conversations I’m reminded how Tobi and the leadership team don’t care about short term sales. They care about product and building a platform that compounds for the long run. Good reminder not to

Week of travel in Europe destroyed my Oura score. Was invaluable meeting customers and partners but reminder their is a health/ energy cost

Working on pricing and packaging right now, I’m inspired by how Shopify moves functionality from higher plans to lower tier plans over time. It takes courage to give up short term revenue to strengthen the core, but it’s the right move. At Recharge, I think a lot about that same

Cool to see how the Recharge team is using Clay/ AI to drive 10x more merchant calls. We’re leveraging deep merchant data to deliver targeted messages that show merchants exactly what they can do to grow their business. clay.com/customers/rech…

As a moderate who values nuance and multiple perspectives, I’m saddened by today’s events and the rise of extremism in our country. It feels like there’s less room for open conversations and genuine dialogue.

Amazing to see how vibe coding is changing how quickly people can move on Shopify front ends. Makes you wonder what’s the point of a theme store our most purely cosmetic frontend tools

I think about my 21 year old self starting a business out of my parents’ garage and try to make that guy proud. It’s easy to lose yourself in this world.

Trying to figure how to train a new generation of marketers to not just be acquisition but also understand retention. It’s clear in Recharge data the best subscription brands nail retention: 70%+ second orders, 50%+ third orders it’s also clear how few people know how to do this.

At Recharge just launched our bundles builder within native Shopify accounts. Now working on launching vibe coding editor for merchants to build their own custom bundles builders no need for developers. If interested in beta group let me know.

At Recharge, our top focus is growing how much our brands process with us not our own revenue. A new head of finance asked why today. My answer if our brands grow, our success follows as a byproduct. Rule of thumb make your North Star what your customers value most.

I’m finding I need to use ChatGPT all the time to tell me what people mean when they send me messages. Not sure what this says about me or them. Either way, my clueless 21-year-old self would have definitely used AI to chat with girls.

One of the unexpected joys of having my son three years ago is getting to relive my own childhood. It’s opened my mind to the world anew.

Migrated a 9 figure merchant to Recharge today. They showed me cohorts of subscribers acquired 20 years ago 14% are still buying. The power of product quality and shopper experience. Too many brands think short term instead of asking how do I keep people for 5,10,20 years?

Noticed I get energy from getting into the details and helping people and lose it when I’m surrounded by endless abstract talk on how to solve problems. The best people I’ve worked with are the same

Running Recharge I’ve got a million dashboards and a data team of 18. But honestly, I think vibes are underrated in business. Data is usually a lagging indicator of what happened. Vibes how customers feel and where that’s heading are often the earliest signal.

Man, reminded today when you feel uncomfortable about something, lean into it. Pissed off customer? Talk to them. Team member not working out? Talk to them. Hate sales? Do sales. Every big unlock I’ve had has come from leaning into the uncomfortable.

Talking to brands seeing scarcity and cost of capital pushing most D2C brands into short-term thinking. Most chase upfront sales for cash flow vs building great shopper experiences. Notice also best Recharge merchants win by playing the long game on what retains subscribers
