Prescribed burning will be occurring on the Chelan Ranger District on Feb. 20. Crews will be burning 2 acres of Pioneer Fire repair piles located along the groomed snowmobile trail on Road 8020 one mile south of Cooper Mountain and 11 miles north of Chelan, WA.

Prescribed pile burning will be occurring at Mitchell Creek Campground located approx. 6 miles north of Manson, WA (on the north shore of Lake Chelan) on March 4. One acre of repair piles created during the Pioneer Fire will be burned.

Today the Chelan Ranger District plans to complete around 200 acres of under burning in the Falls unit on the north shore of Lake Chelan. Burning will be completed using Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). For a map of the unit visit arcg.is/1S1v0X0.

Methow Valley Ranger Dist. crews will be burning 2 acres of landing piles in the Libby Creek drainage 4 mi W of Carlton, WA, on March 12 & 13. Piles must be burned to alleviate fire control issues during future underburns. tinyurl.com/4x4777ar

3/26, prescribed burning will occur on Entiat Ranger Dist (100 acres in Gold Ridge burn unit 1.5 mi NW of Ardenvoir, WA) & Wenatchee River Ranger Dist (100 acres in the Martin Ranch area located 5 mi SW of Wenatchee). Smoke will be visible from Ardenvoir, Wenatchee, & Cashmere.

On April 3, prescribed burning will occur on the Entiat Ranger Dist. Crews will burn 100 acres in the Gold Ridge prescribed burn unit 10 miles NW of Entiat, WA and 1.5 miles NW of Ardenvoir, WA. Smoke will be visible from Ardenvoir. For a map go to arcg.is/0CqeLL

Plans are to burn 700 acres in the Gold Ridge unit on the Entiat Ranger Dist on April 4. Smoke will be very visible. On April 6, Chelan Ranger Dist personnel will burn 200 acres at Washington Creek, 8 mi N of Chelan; smoke will be visible from Echo Ridge & Antoine Creek.

Prescribed burning 4/17-4/20. · Methow Valley RD - 750 ac in the Smith Cyn unit 3 mi NW of Carlton, on 4/18 & possibly over the weekend. · Naches RD - 1,450 ac in the Canteen units, 15 mi NW of Naches, on 4/18. · Chelan RD - 300 ac at Washington Cr, 9 mi N of Chelan, 4/18&19.

Prescribed burning will occur on two ranger districts on 4/22/25: · Chelan RD: 250 acres in Falls Coyote Unit, 21 mi NW of Chelan, WA. Smoke may be visible from Chelan & Manson. · Methow Valley RD: 330 acres in the Mission Creek Unit located in Libby Creek, 3.5 mi W of Carlton.

Prescribed burning 4/24/25: · Cle Elum RD: 150 acres in Swauk Pine unit 20 mi NE of Cle Elum, WA. Smoke will be visible from Hwy 97, Liberty, & maybe Interstate 90. · Methow Valley RD: 120 acres in Elderberry unit 3 mi NW of Carlton, WA; smoke may be visible Methow to Winthrop.

Cle Elum Ranger District crews will burn the remaining 100 acres in the Swauk Pine prescribed burn unit located 20 miles NE of Cle Elum, WA on 4/25/25. Smoke will be visible from Hwy. 97, Liberty, and possibly Interstate 90.

The plastic culvert that had been under Forest Road 1401 was completely burned during the 2024 Retreat Fire leaving a cavity that has partially collapsed the road. Motorists note-Road 1401 is CLOSED at the damaged culvert site in the Oak Creek area 15 mi W/SW of Naches, WA.
