I am thrilled to share the perspective on our latest work just published on Science Magazine. Foster Lab Sheffield AFM Group Bacteria divide to conquer antibiotics | Science science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Two codependent routes lead to high-level MRSA | Science science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Sheffield AFM Group Foster Lab

This is an amazing collaborative piece of work between lots of groups: Rebecca Corrigan Pasquina-Lemonche Lab Sheffield AFM Group Oliver Meacock Kasia Wacnik Abimbola_Olulana. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you to everyone who helped us get this story out there!

A new study from scientists at The University of Sheffield and University College Dublin has revealed how the hospital superbug MRSA can grow and divide in the presence of antibiotics. MRSA is an antimicrobial resistance superbug that causes over 120,000 deaths a year. The findings Science Magazine offer

A belated introductury post to say that I'm super excited to have started my PhD studying bacterial cell wall maturation with Pasquina-Lemonche Lab ! I cant wait to get stuck in, and watch our lab group grow like Strep 🦠

Happy to share this story from my PhD Foster Lab & Steve Renshaw - with Rebecca Hodges (she/her) in Ken Bayles’ lab & Josie Pyrah - we show that oxacillin & tetracycline display synergy against S. aureus biofilms & during infection in zebrafish!
