Thank you, the Japanese Prosthodontic Society, for inviting me as a keynote speaker! Special thanks to Mitsuaki Ohno. I was amazed by the strong research community among Japanese prosthodontists. It took me more than a few days to translate all my slides & scripts into Japanese!

Osaka U has a world-premier research-intensive dental school. I truly enjoyed the scientific discussions and Q&As after the talk! Special thanks to Kenji Hata, who is a 3rd generation dentist and doing mostly research like myself, and a new chairman of the Dept. of Biochemistry.

My third stop of the week is Iwaki, visiting a legendary steroid hormone bone biologist, Shigeaki Kato. It tells a story of how a private organization with a vision can promote science in a small hot spring town. Looking forward to catching up on exciting work from his team!
