Ontario Police Department is aware of false active shooter reports around the nation. Today, we received a similar report at Chaffey HS. We rapidly responded to the school and determined there was no credible threat. Swatting calls put undue strain on police resources, schools, and students.

Ontario Police Department and Ontario Fire Dept. responded to Grace Yokley Middle School regarding a student with a suspicious device. OFD used a portable X-ray and determined the device was a canned food product with various wires attached. The scene was rendered safe and the school day resumed.

#StructureFire- Units are on scene of a structure fire in the 1900 block of E. La Deney Drive. Outdoor fire that spread into the attic. Crews knocked the fire down in approx. 20 minutes. American Red Cross is assisting one adult male.
