Cellular life is amazingly complex. To find cures for diseases, we must understand the molecular details of how cells and their proteins operate. Visit our new OpenCell website and interactively explore the localization and interactions of human proteins:opencell.czbiohub.org

Excited to see this update! Cytoself enabled us to quantitatively compare our IP/MS interaction data with our microscopy images (spoiler alert: we showed that if proteins in our library share similar localization patterns, they are more likely than not to directly interact!)

.#OpenCell from Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network -- results from which are published in Science Magazine today -- is mapping cells one protein at a time, paving a new way to visualize cellular architecture. science.org/doi/full/10.11…. Video: youtube.com/watch?v=6j4fpV…

Check our perspective on the OpenCellCZB awesome work from Manuel Leonetti "Modules" help interpret biological systems. However, we see in these new data that connectors far outweigh modules in PPI networks! What does that mean? We discuss it: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

One of the super useful features of the opencell.czbiohub.org website is that you can look up the cellular copy numbers and concentrations of your favorite proteins - check it out! (even for proteins that aren't among our targets or their interactors)
