🧵1. I've said before: there is nothing "organic" or "spontaneous" about the anti-asylum protests. I started noticing stuff in my local FB community page around 2 years ago. Wild claims about "foreign looking men" trying to snatch their child out of a trolly in Tesco >

Whatever your views on Epping, this isn’t protest. It’s not achieving anything. It’s just nasty, ignorant fucking racism. If people want their concerns heard, these are not the voices to do it.

An immigration bidding war between Starmer and Farage that ends with a Taliban bullet to the back of the head isn’t quite the patriotic look that we should be aspiring to, is it? New from me today for Canary thecanary.co/opinion/2025/0…

Zack Polanski is the new leader of the Green Party. He won 85% of the vote. Given the greens are second in 40 seats, 39 of which are Labour, and over 25 of which are in London, that seems like a wise decision in winning more seats.

"We're not here to be concerned by you. We're here to replace you." Zack Polanski brands Nigel Farage a "charlatan" and vows to replace Keir Starmer's Labour as the party of the left in his first speech as Green Party leader.

Huge congratulations to new @theGreenParty leader Zack Polanski! It's been an honour to lead the party for the last 4 years and now I'm so excited to play my part in this next chapter, working with the new leadership team as they take the Green Party into an exciting new era.

Congratulations to Zack Polanski on your stunning victory. Your campaign took on the rich and powerful, stood up for the dignity of all marginalised communities, and gave people hope! Real change is coming. I look forward to working with you to create a fairer, kinder world.

Now this is how you announce your election victory! Finally the Green Party have good comms - and finally they have a leader who’s totally confident using anti-elite populist rhetoric that will enthuse a far wider voter base. No more meekness!

Zack Polanski acceptance speech: ‘People are exhausted’ ‘Working longer hrs for less pay’ ‘Charlatans like Farage given space by Labour’ ‘We will nationalise water’ ‘For Keir Starmer- we are here to replace you!’ Outstanding Passionate Inspiring!

Flags don’t feed families. Flags don’t fix the housing crisis. Flags don’t support pensioners or disabled people. Politicians should focus and be judged on how they improve the lives of people, not the number of union jacks they have on their walls.

Bizarre commentary on Zack Polanski from the Guardian's Peter Walker. He says: "The Greens have taken a step into the unknown. And the first task for Polanski is to bring the party with him." He's won on known policies, backed by 85% of the membership! theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

Britain doesn’t have to be shit. We can fix it. But not by sticking flags to lamp posts. But by sticking it to the mega rich who have willfully destroyed our country for their own private gain.

Emergency, an Italian NGO that provides medical support in conflict zones, has joined the Gaza Flotilla. This is the first large NGO to participate in the mission. More of this!

Labour Presenter accuses the Green Leader of taking votes of Labour. Polanski explains that Labour are now the Tories and they should lose their seats.

Most interesting thing to note about Zack Polanski’s first 24 hours as leader? • When Starmer became leader he began immediately abandoning promises. • When Zack became leader he went on our telly and repeated all of his promises.
