Male Red-Breasted Flycatcher on the Great Orme, Llandudno today. Lifer and bird number 203 for the year. Didn't have my camera, so agonising 45 minute diversion home, but the bird did the decent thing and stayed. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, and flycatching constantly.

Crested tit workshop Pete Walkden complete, the results are amazing, I wanted this time to include more of the ancient forest floor that is made up of lichen, heather and grasses. This fallen tree stump was perfect and gave me a chance to achieve my goal and many fine images.

We framed Pieter de Hooch‘s Courtyard Scene today. The clumsy gilded 20th century replica frame was replaced with a newly acquired Dutch 17th century ebonised fruitwood ripple moulding frame. This is 400th re-framing of the permanent collection (NG) during my tenure.
