Giving cops more and more money is not a zero sum game. Defunding infrastructure, schools, healthcare, housing, and other services at the expense of failed, ineffective police exacerbates the root causes of crime. The safest communities have the most resources, not cops.

This whole thread, but yes, this reflects exactly how I feel. Never have I been as in-touch with my own mortality. I measure my life in micromorts now, calculating how best to make use of what I have left. Before I was simply drifting into an early grave, in denial of what I was.

As a small-town Texas trans person, this made me happy. A reminder that IRL and away from politics & media most ppl are decent and just want to live & let live.
