Weeks ago, California Department of Fish and Wildlife staff collected eggs from 30 untreated female Chinook salmon at Feather River Fish Hatchery for student observation. Funding from NOAA Education supports field trips for participating Solano County schools to continue the now-hatched salmon's life cycle.

Funding from the UC Davis School of Education Gear Up STEM Rural Valley Partnership allows schools from Glenn, Colusa, & Tehama counties to also go on field trips. All students meet research team members (đź‘‹, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service!), who help students properly release their fish into the Sacramento River.

So exciting to see our partnership with Solano County Office of Education featured in FOX40 News! We had UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences join Feb. 2's field trip with the County's Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Program at Rodriguez High School.
