We have enjoyed reading some non fiction books about our everyday heroes! The children are setting up a police station in the role play and have been busy sorting, doubling, writing and doing tricky jigsaws too! Lots of lovely independent play based learning.

We had such an exciting visitor yesterday afternoon! The children learnt all about Buddy the police dog and all the important work he does helping people. He even found something the police officers had hidden in the hall. What a clever dog!

A hot but fun sports day all round! Green team was super! Thanks so much to all the parents who came to support- the children loved having you there! What a super Overchurch Community! All the children did very well moving from each activity… I wonder which team came first?! 🏆

A creative afternoon making our own ‘paint’ at #overchurchforestschool We used the pestle & mortar to grind and pummel leaves, flowers and charcoal to make colours from nature! We also discovered a happy face inside a fallen horse chestnut and welcomed Mrs Igoe as a volunteer 💚

We have been using positional language exploring maps in @Overchurchmaths. The children have enjoyed spotting places they have visited on the big Wirral map and then made their own maps. We found some of our houses on Google Earth including my new house! #Overchurchgeography

We had a lovely visit from Evie’s mummy and Pete the dragon. She told us all about looking after your teeth! We know we should brush twice a day and drink water to keep our teeth healthy. We had a go at brushing Pete’s teeth and we know how dentists can help us. 🦷🪥

The children LOVED our #OverchurchDT today. Super chopping while making a fruit kebab. The children designed, made, enjoyed and evaluated their kebab! 😋

A sunny afternoon with Class 1 Overchurch with lots of independent play, fire lighting with Mrs C, and forest donuts for a treat! We had to manage our feelings and reactions too as we were calmly avoiding a few sneaky wasps who wanted to join in with our fun!
