Such a key point/issue. Surely racecourses will never hand over assets ie fixtures to BHA. Has anyone tried to put a price tag on them? No way they go. Allen's plans emasculated from Day 1.

Enjoying the summer, long hols in France. Only a bystander now as have hung up racing strategy boots apart from the occasional waffle on X. Still active owner but now into 3rd year of 50% reduction so far better off!!! Racing can sink without me.

Excellent examination of the madness of the manipulators who encircle and pervert racing. Before forwarding your letters to MPs Axing the Racing Tax read this first. Very supportive of what Geoff has written.

Point well made. Lower prize money 30 years on vs considerable cost increases to owners and trainers since 1995. Racehorse Owners Association should track & highlight this. Grassroots racing will contract. Not sustainable. One for Cuttingcomment.com to do the longitudinal prize money comparison.

If Redcar cannot afford to put on reasonable money in a prime slot then they shouldn’t be racing at all.. give another racecourse the option of staging the fixture on a Sunday like this? Someone needs to say ‘NO’ to them.

Carve out for racing vs everyone else "a monumental error" according to these lads and I fear they're right. Hope Dunshea, Cruddace, Gosden et al have done their risk assessments.

How long before the Flutters of this world follow the non doms offshore? Hard to see anyway racing will not be considerably damaged under a Labour gambling tax raid: carve out or no carve out.

Geoff Banks (@geoffbanksbet) 's Twitter Profile Photo

That is exactly right. If we cast our minds back just 10 years ago the likes of flutter and inane were encouraged back to the United Kingdom by a reasonable tax deal. Now driven by the social market foundation and their ignorant call for harmonisation of tax we faced the

A thought today as we see the end of a magnificent run of coverage of Tour de France™ on ITV Sport ITV Cycling So many brilliant broadcasters, production professional and incredible cyclists have brought the greatest show on earth into our homes for many, many years. Chapeau ❤️

this is who Horse Racing, the Trainers Federation, Arena Racetracks and Jockey Club have been negotiating with and apparently agreeing to his proposals on a huge increase in betting tax Instead of challenging how he got the job in the first place! Seriously?

So hoping Lord Allen's appointment and recent principled stand with racecourses and participants pays off. It'll be a milestone or a millstone. Another excellent blog by Cuttingcomment.com

Thought provoking as usual. Is the petition on fighting the racing tax a good idea or high risk desperation. I fear the latter but hope the former.
