Join us on Tuesday to hear from Professor Steve Waksman (Music, Humanities and Media at Huddersfield). In his presentation, he will offer an overview of some of the primary materials and questions that have motivated his Leverhulme-funded project on the history and cultural impact of amplification technologies.

On Thursday, join EMPRes & electronic music composer & visual artist Leafcutter John for an immersive performance. Alongside this are works composed, presented & curated by Music & TheRuskinSchool students, responding to Modern Art Oxford exhibition of Barbara Steveni: I Find Myself


The RPS Young Classical Writers Prize calls on young people to put pen to paper and express their musical passions and opinions. We're looking forward to this concert tomorrow, in particular hearing our students Tom Kirby and Oliver Simpson perform Mozart Oboe Quartet in F major and Schubert String Quintet in C major with the Castalian Quartet!

Composition students Leandro Landolina and Nicholas Samuel have both written pieces which will be performed by Castalian Quartet tomorrow, following collaborative workshop sessions. We can't wait to hear the final results!




Great to see alumnus Bradley Hoover new book has been released! Filled with fascinating figures, it focuses on the striking similarities between Wagner's early aesthetic writings and François Delsarte's 'Cours d'esthétique appliquée'. Free Access until Wednesday 11 June.
