We have agreed this statement on the Palestine solidarity encampments set up by students at Cambridge University and University of Oxford with Oxford UCU. In line with local and national UCU policies we urge our institutions to divest from war and apartheid ucu.cam.ac.uk/joint-ucu-bran…

🔴 Solidarity with the Oxford Action for Palestine Encampment This morning, members of the University community began the Oxford Action for Palestine (Oxford Action for Palestine) Solidarity Encampment on the lawn outside the Pitt Rivers Museum, in solidarity with the Palestinian people. 1/6

It is now 3 months since ET ruled that Alice Jolly and I are and always have been employees of University of Oxford. Still no acknowledgement from anyone at the university, or of its widespread use of sham contracts. Earlier this week, the University Administration authorised the destruction of the Oxford Action for Palestine's Gaza Memorial Garden at the Pitt Rivers Museum, which was built by students as a community space in solidarity with the people of Palestine. 1/6

If Goldsmiths - with a very strong & active union - can get away with sacking nearly 100 people for spurious financial reasons, then I shudder to think about what's next for other universities. Please send messages of support to Goldsmiths UCU & donate to gofundme.com/f/help-goldsmi…

This evening, our committee sent this letter to Frances Corner & Goldsmiths, University of London SMT, on behalf of our membership. Goldsmiths is constructed of world renowned depts, upheld by dedicated and innovative academics - 90 of which will receive redundancy letters on Monday.

Back in court tomorrow with my co-claimant Alice Jolly to continue our fight on behalf of illegally casualised tutors at University of Oxford. Nine months on, Oxford still refusing to acknowledge we are employees + still denying we were dismissed. Dismal bullying tactics all the way.

We’re back outside Reading Employment Tribunal to support our members Rebecca Abrams and Alice Jolly! 1/4
